Lessons for Violin, Viola, Cello and Bass.
New! Music Theory Lessons Available!
Lessons are typically 30 minutes once a week for beginners with 45 minute and 60 minute slots available for more advancing players in order to cover more material.
Costs:
$35 for 30 minutes, $50 for 45 minutes, or $65 for 60 minutes. $25 per semester Recital Fee due in September and February.
Attendance Expectations:
Students should arrive at scheduled lessons 5 minutes prior to the lesson start time. Lesson times will not be extended for tardy arrivals. Tardy arrivals of more than 10 minutes are considered a “no-show” and are subject to cancellation, upon the instructor’s discretion.
The student is expected to participate in at least two recitals, outreach concert, or festivals per year, per each instructor’s policies.
Please discuss with your teacher regarding recitals and preparation for performances.
Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance so as not to be charged for the lesson.
Make-up lessons may be offered if the student has given the teacher 24-hours notice that they will not be at their scheduled lesson time. However, make-ups are offered on a case-by-case basis and subject to each instructor’s availability. If the instructor chooses not to give a makeup lesson, the student will not be charged for the lesson. “No-show” lessons will not be rescheduled, and the student will be charged the full amount for the lesson.
If the instructor and student agree upon a make-up lesson time, and the student agrees to the make-up lesson but cancels it, even with advanced notice, or is a “no-show”, the lesson will not be rescheduled a second time and the student will be charged the full amount for the lesson.
Commitment Expectations:
For new students, we require a minimum commitment of 3 months or 12 lessons, whichever is greater. If the student no longer wishes to continue lessons after the commitment period, please notify your instructor and the studio director.
To get the best outcome from private lessons, it is expected for intermediate students every half hour of lesson time, students should be practicing at home at least 30 minutes per day. For first time beginners that expectation is less until they have learned enough repertoire to fill 30 minutes of practice time (between 3 months and 1 year of playing).
