Melanie Stokes and has been teaching violin to students of all ages for over 10 years. She is originally from upstate NY, where she studied Music Performance at SUNY Empire State College in Saratoga Springs. Melanie has performed in many different community orchestras and chamber groups throughout the Tristate area of NY, NJ, and PA. Most recently, she was the Concertmaster and past board member of the Lake Norman Orchestra in Mooresville, NC. Melanie considers herself a traditional teacher of music, specifically focusing on reading music and technical proficiency from the beginning. Melanie came to Lake Norman in 2017, and has been teaching here since then, recently retiring from a career in accounting to focus on teaching full time. "Being a violin teacher is my passion, and I feel so fortunate to share the gift of music with my students!"
